Millions of Tanzanian children protected against measles
Nationwide measles campaign in the United Republic of Tanzania
From 30 July to 1 August 2005, the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania, with support from the Measles Initiative (www.measlesinitiative.org), conducted a nationwide measles campaign. The campaign targeted nearly 6.5 million children, aged nine months to five years. In addition to measles vaccination, the children were also given several other life-saving interventions.
