Immunization, Vaccines and Biologicals

Two regions uniting to vaccinate millions of children, adults and seniors

21 April 2009

Eighty countries and territories will be participating in vaccination weeks in the Americas (25 April-2 May) and Europe (20-26 April). Vaccination campaigns against diseases such as influenza, measles, rotavirus, rubella and yellow fever are being combined with advocacy and social outreach activities to boost awareness of the importance of immunization. These annual initiatives focus on increasing immunization coverage, immunizing vulnerable and hard-to-reach populations as well as promoting the use of new and existing vaccines.
