Measles death in the United Kingdom. In April 2006, it was reported that a 13 year-old boy had died of measles in the United Kingdom. He was the first person to die of the virus in the United Kingdom in 14 years. Dr Peter Strebel, the WHO expert on measles, was interviewed by Sky News.

"Vaccins: à qui profite la piqûre?" (Vaccines - who benefits from the injection?) Produced by the Swiss television network TSR, this 45-minute documentary in French was initially aired on 15 February 2006 on 36.9°, the current affairs programme on health issues. Although focusing on vaccine safety issues, the documentary covers a broad range of topics related to immunization. It describes how vaccines work, the history of vaccination, the campaigns to eradicate smallpox and polio and reduce measles mortality and the challenges faced today by medical experts in ensuring high rates of vaccination.


"Fragile Lives - Immunization at Risk", an independent film written, produced and directed by acclaimed documentary film-maker Jenny Barraclough, brings to life the human face of immunization, its promises, and its challenges. The film was aired on BBC World in May 2004
