Doctor Xiaofeng Liang

Xiaofeng Liang, MD, MPH, is the Deputy Director-General of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention.

Doctor Liang earned his medical degree from Shanxi Medical University in 1984. In 1995, he obtained a Master of Public Health from College of Public Health of Peking University of Medicine and continued 2 years research at the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, College of Medicine, University of Miami, Florida, USA.

In the early days of his career, Doctor Liang served as the Vice-Director of Epidemic Prevention Station of Gansu Province and the Vice-Director of Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology, CAPM. In 2004 he became the Director of Chinese Journal of Vaccines and Immunization and a year later the Vice Secretary-General of Chinese Foundation of Hepatitis Prevention. Doctor Liang has also served on numerous advisory committees including the Chinese Advisory Committee of Immunization Practices, the Chinese Association of Community Health and the Chinese Association of Preventive Medicine, branch of Biological Products.

Doctor Liang's research interests include vaccine preventable disease surveillance and Hepatitis B vaccination. He is the author of more than 30 articles in national and international journals. A number of his publications in the area of Expanded Program on Immunization have been used in the textbooks and professional training in China.
