Qualities required for SAGE members
To help you decide if you wish to be considered for SAGE membership below are the criteria that will be applied when assessing candidates. To be considered, you must be able to demonstrate that you have the qualities, skills and experience to meet all the criteria.
All candidates must have:
- an understanding of the vaccination and immunization issues covered by the Advisory Group;
- an understanding of global immunization issues;
- an outstanding record of achievement and personal credibility within own field, appropriate to the remit of the Group;
- experience of work and issues in international settings and developing countries;
- experience of operating at a strategic level in the public or other sectors;
- experience of working effectively in high level advisory committees;
- excellent interpersonal and communication skills to support effective discussion with a range of stakeholders;
- ability to evaluate complex issues and weigh up conflicting opinions;
- ability to influence at a senior level;
- good command of English;
- a broad range of expertise and interest.
