Viral hepatitis policy and practice: Report of a survey of WHO Member States, 2010

In preparation for a discussion by the World Health Assembly on resolution WHA63.18, WHO commissioned a study of Member State viral hepatitis policies and interventions.

This global survey was conducted on behalf of WHO by the World Hepatitis Alliance, a non-governmental organization that represents approximately 280 hepatitis B and hepatitis C patient groups around the world.

The global report outlines the Member States' policies and programmes aimed at preventing and controlling viral hepatitis and the areas in which WHO might provide technical assistance. The report includes a synthesis of information received from 135 Member States who responded to the survey and serves as a starting point to address the recommendations in WHA 63.18.
