Immunization safety
Vaccination is one of the most important public health interventions. Vaccines are biological products with effects that can exceed the induction of immunological protection against specific diseases. Therefore, the safety of vaccine products and the adverse events that follow immunization require careful monitoring. As immunization programmes have become more successful and several major infectious diseases have become rare events, the attention to adverse events following immunization has increased.
The purpose of this website is to provide easy access to up-to-date factual information, global policies, best practices and resource documents in the area of immunization safety.
The site is primarily aimed at immunization managers, National Regulatory Authorities, other officials in Ministries of Health, and health professionals. Other interested parties, including concerned members of the public, may find it useful and informative.
