Multi dose vaccines have considerable advantages in developing country immunization programmes, especially in campaign settings, as they are economical, occupy less space in the cold chain freeing free storage places for other important vaccines, and in many settings, preferable from the administration view point as well. These advantages, in the context of routine immunization, may become disadvantages due to the potential for high wastage rates. This vial presentation contains 10 doses which makes it prone to such wastage. Therefore the vaccine is more suitable for campaign settings, and users must weigh the significance of potentially high wastage in the context of routine vaccination programmes if they choose to use this vaccine brand.
