Immunization Training Partnership

About the Partnership

Background of the Partnership

The launching of the GAVI Alliance (formerly the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization) has created much interest in the development of training materials for health workers on delivering immunization services. Many public and private sector organizations are involved in training activities in different parts of the world.

WHO conducted a survey in 2002 to create an inventory of the ongoing training initiatives and to identify who is doing what sort of training, where and how. The results of the questionnaire highlighted the fact that many organizations were involved in training.
