The Merck Company Foundation – Industry
Merck & Co., Inc. (Merck) is a founding partner in the GAVI Alliance, a historic alliance between the private and public sectors committed to the mission of saving children's lives and protecting people's health through the widespread use of vaccines. In support of our partnership with GAVI, the Merck Vaccine Network – Africa (MVN-A) program was created to help increase the capacity of immunization programs to effectively deliver vaccines in Africa.
Funded by The Merck Company Foundation, MVN-A launched in 2003 through a competitive grants process. Since that time, MVN-A training Centers in Kenya and Mali were established to provide health professionals with hands-on training in vaccine management and immunization services. The Merck Company Foundation is currently seeking grant applications from eligible organizations to expand the MVN-A program and increase the number of training Centers in Africa.
