Immunization in practice - A practical guide for health staff

Immunization in practice

This practical guide contains eight modules targeted at district and health facility staff. It intends to meet the demands to improve immunization services so as to reach more infants in a sustainable way, building upon the experiences of polio eradication. It includes materials adapted from polio on planning, monitoring and use of data to improve the service, that can be used at any level. Immunization in practice is both a resource and training guide that can be used in workshops and supportive supervision visits. It is useful both for staff who are learning to provide immunization services and for those who have been doing so for some time. Its format is easy to follow. Extensive use is made of tables, figures, sample forms, reports, maps, charts and practical tips to assist staff in planning, implementing and monitoring immunization services.

It is available in English and French as a book or CD-ROM.

Increasing immunization coverage at the health facility level

These guidelines can be modified to suit the local context and needs and can be used at various levels of the health system in any country.
