Source: Laboratory confirmed data from the Global Influenza Surveillance and Response System (GISRS).

Based on FluNet reporting (as of 14 April 2015, 12:35 UTC), ), National Influenza Centres (NICs) and other national influenza laboratories from 84 countries, areas or territories reported data for the time period from 22 March 2015 to 4 April 2015. The WHO GISRS laboratories tested more than 72 871 specimens. 12 009 were positive for influenza viruses, of which 4187 (34.9%) were typed as influenza A and 7822 (65.1%) as influenza B. Of the sub-typed influenza A viruses, 1281 (48.5%) were influenza A(H1N1)pdm09 and 1359 (51.5%) were influenza A(H3N2). Of the characterized B viruses, 1441 (97%) belonged to the B-Yamagata lineage and 44 (3%) to the B-Victoria lineage.
