Information Session on implementation of the PIP Framework
Influenza vaccine, diagnostic and pharmaceutical manufacturers and members of Civil Society Organizations are cordially invited to an Information Session on implementation of the PIP Framework.
Pandemic influenza preparedness: sharing of influenza viruses and access to vaccines and other benefits
The PIP Framework brings together Member States, industry, other key stakeholders and WHO to implement a global approach to pandemic influenza preparedness and response. The Framework aims to improve the sharing of influenza viruses with pandemic potential, and to achieve more predictable, efficient, and equitable access for countries in need, to life saving vaccines and medicines during future pandemics. The Framework came into effect on 24 May 2011 when it was adopted by the Sixty-fourth World Health Assembly.
WHO will provide an update on implementation of the Framework.
The Information Session will take place in salle C at WHO HQ on 4 November 2011 at 14.00. Interpretation will be provided in French and Spanish.
All presentations from the meeting will be posted on this site following the session.
It would be greatly appreciated if you could confirm your intent to participate no later than 28 October 2011 by sending your response by email to Mr. Marc Perut firstname.lastname@example.org with your name, title and contact details so a badge to enter WHO can be organized.
