WKC is currently working on activities to support health recovery from the Great East Japan Earthquake. There are 8 thematic areas, as follows:
- Health indicators for emergency preparedness and recovery;
- Emergency essential health services package for urban areas;
- Information management for urban health emergencies;
- Mapping of technical resources and research activities on urban health emergencies;
- Human resource development strategies in urban emergencies;
- Business continuity plans for hospitals and public health sector;
- Planning processes for urban health emergencies; and
- Strengthening of urban hospitals and health facilities to be safer in disasters/emergencies.
