League of Nations malaria documents

The following is an extract from the League of Nations: Ten Years of World Cooperation Geneva. League of Nations Publication, 1931.

"During the war, migrations of population, poverty, privations of all kinds and disorganization of the medical services caused a disturbing recrudescence of malaria in Russia, the Balkan countries, Poland and even in Italy. New endemic foci were discovered and severe forms of the disease became more frequent. The Malaria Commission, which was set up in 1924, first carried out an enquiry in the principal centres of the disease. It visited the most important foci in Yugoslavia, Greece, Bulgaria, Roumania, Russia and Italy, and was accompanied in each country by a local specialist".

This site contains 282 documents, in PDF format, published by the Malaria Commission between the years of 1924-1932.
