Who can use the collection?
The Historical Collection is open to WHO staff members and visiting scholars who are engaged in serious research and whose work depends on materials contained in the Collection. Researchers must register by filling out a registration form. Photographic identification for visiting scholars is required for initial registration.

The Reference Staff in charge of the Historical Collection provide information on the collection and services.
Inquiries concerning photocopying of books, manuscripts and other material must be referred to the librarian in charge, whose decision in such matters is final. As a rule, photocopy of material produced before 1948 is generally not allowed. For the rest of the collection, the physical condition of the material or other factors may limit photocopying; the researcher will be informed in such instances.
The Library's sale of a reproduction does not imply an authorisation to publish or reproduce it. Patrons must submit a separate request for permission to publish text or to reproduce facsimiles of items from the WHO Library Historical Collection.
Photocopies cost CHF 0.10 per page.
