Global malaria control and elimination
Report of a meeting on containment of artemisinin tolerance, 19 January 2008
Overview
Early signs of artemisinins becoming less effective against P.falciparum malaria are now evident at the Thai-Cambodian border. This report presents the outline of a containment plan to avert potentially grave consequences of artemisinin-tolerant parasites from spreading further, as happened with chloroquine and sulfadoxine-pyrimethamine.
