Documents from 2008 conference on Appropriate Healthcare Technologies for Developing Countries 2008
According to the World Health Organization, around 95% of medical technology in developing countries is imported. Astonishingly, 50% of equipment in these countries is not in use. This is either due to a lack of maintenance, lack of training or because the equipment is too sophisticated. As a result, this has a big impact on the effective provision of healthcare in developing countries.
