Malaria in pregnancy
Guidelines for measuring key monitoring and evaluation indicators
Overview
This document provides guidance for monitoring and evaluation of key indicators of malaria in pregnancy, for both malaria-control and reproductive-health-care workers. Malaria infection during pregnancy is an enormous public health problem, with substantial risks for the mother, her fetus and the neonate. The document presents core indicators to evaluate the interventions for the control of malaria during pregnancy. The indicators were identified by a WHO technical meeting and then pilot-tested in three sub-Saharan African countries.
