Building the evidence base on the provision of health care to children in complex emergencies: Report of the working group
Overview
At the request of WHO, the Center for International Emergency, Disaster and Relief Studies at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, brought together a multidisciplinary team to review child health activities in complex emergencies. The objectives were to: review the published literature on child health in complex emergencies, including burden of disease; identify the major organizations providing care to children in complex emergencies and review existing clinical guidelines; identify major gaps in the guidelines used by NGOs to provide health care to children in complex emergencies; and make recommendations to overcome these gaps.
