A review of the technical basis for the control of conditions associated with GAS infections
Overview
Most GAS control activities have fallen in the past into rheumatic heart disease (RHD) secondary prophylaxis programs, and management of acute rheumatic fever, RHD and sore throat / GAS pharyngitis. The review looks into the entire range of potential strategies for controlling GAS diseases, and discusses the evidence supporting them and the associated cost.
