Maternal, newborn, child and adolescent health

Key items on the agenda to be discussed by Member States include Primary Health Care, the Social Determinants of Health, monitoring of the achievement of the health-related Millennium Development Goals, WHO’s role and responsibilities in health research, and progress reports on a number of technical issues of relevance to child and adolescent health and development, including:

  • working towards universal coverage of maternal, newborn and child health interventions;
  • the prevention and control of sexually transmitted infections; and
  • better medicines for children.
