Costing
Costing is necessary to set realistic budgets, estimate resources gaps and mobilize resources. There are different types of cost estimates that can be used for different purposes. WHO and partners have worked together to develop the One Health Model a single model to be used for supporting the costing, budgeting, financing and strategy development of the health sector in developing countries with a focus on medium term MDG-related health activities. The Department will use the One Health Model to assist in prioritization and costing of MNCAH interventions.
The Department also has extensive experience in applying the tools of the Integrated Health Technology Package which help to determine and cost the mix of technologies that are needed to deliver a defined set of health interventions to improve maternal and newborn health.
