Mr Nimal S. De Silva, President of the 62nd World Health Assembly.

Mr Nimal Siripala De Silva, Sri Lankan Minister of Healthcare and Nutrition, was elected President of the 62nd World Health Assembly on 18 May, 2009. He is the outgoing Chairman of the Executive Board.

Minister De Silva first attended the World Health Assembly in 1997, later serving on a number of committees to WHO and WHA.

WHO spoke with him about his priorities as President of the Health Assembly.
