Expos are large public exhibitions. In terms of economic impact they are the world's third largest cultural events, after the FIFA World Cup and the Olympics. The theme of Expo 2010 is "Better City, Better Life."
WHO will participate in the year's Expo as part of the United Nations (UN). The theme of the UN pavilion is "One Earth, One UN." The UN pavilion will have four components: permanent exhibitions, temporary exhibitions, magazine and web site.
Permanent exhibit: The permanent exhibit will group materials from all participating agencies within four themes: cities and the environment; cities cradles of social development; cities, centers of culture and learning; cities as engines of creative economy.
Temporary exhibit: WHO will use the temporary exhibit to host events around a number of health-specific days and events, including World No Tobacco Day (May), World Blood Donor Day (June), World Health Day Exhibition (July), Five Keys to Safer Food (October).
