The United Nations Ad Hoc Interagency Task Force on Tobacco Control will hold its eighth session from 18-19 February 2010 in New York. The session will cover issues related to tobacco and human rights, indigenous populations, gender, women and reproductive health, child survival issues and the implementation of the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control.
The United Nations Ad Hoc Interagency Task Force on Tobacco Control was established by the Secretary-General of the United Nations in 1999 to coordinate the tobacco control work being carried out by different United Nations agencies. It is chaired by WHO and comprises 17 Agencies of the United Nations system and two organizations outside the UN system.
