Good Governance for Medicines Programme Phase III: Implementation of the national GGM programme

Implementation of a GGM programme requires the systematic training of government officials and health professionals. This process is essential if civil servants are to personally identify with the framework and also in stimulating the necessary motivation for its sustained application.
It is vital that national GGM frameworks should not become documents developed by a few key actors at central level.

A training package is being developed, that will focus on developing the good governance skills required to implement the national GGM programme within the pharmaceutical sector. These skills include conducting consultation processes, undertaking conflict resolution, moral reasoning and consensus-building.
