Model web site for medicines regulatory authorities

Concept

  Contents:

The present model web site has been developed over the past years and is the result of discussions with a number of health professionals and officials of DRAs.

A recent survey (cf. WHO Drug Information, vol 15, Number 3&4, 2001: “Improving the quality and usefulness of drug regulatory authority websites”) carried out by EDM has shown that only some 50 Drug Regulatory Agencies across the globe offer their respective information resources via a website to the Internet audience. Many DRAs do not have a website. The Internet audience is wide and consists of national or international DRAs, health care professionals, the pharmaceutical industry, medical publishers, medicines consumers, and patients worldwide in the public and private sector. WHO has taken the initiative to establish a model web site in order to assist WHO member states, as appropriate and required, to create their own web site.
