Medicines Programme Coordination

The Medicines Programme Coordination (MPC) unit is a fundamental segment of the Medicines department. MPC combines efforts with stakeholders in the public, private and NGO sectors in order to increase procurement and access to priority medicines at country-level, facilitate strategies to promote their rational use and ultimately establish agreeable mechanisms for drug pricing policies and monitoring. Moreover, MPC works with Member States in the development, implementation and evaluation of National Medicines Policy (NMP) and the further integration to the respective health system plans. MPC also identify methods to ensure that qualified staff is available to respond to the objectives of the pharmaceutical sector.
