Transparency in medicines regulation and procurement stakeholders strategy meeting

Momentum is now gathering among the international community and ministries of health in countries to tackle corruption in the health sector, as it is becoming increasingly apparent that corruption is hindering global and national efforts to promote better health. A growing number of key players are now active in promoting transparency in medicines regulations and procurement. To help a coordinated approach in tackling this difficult issue, WHO is convening a stakeholders meeting of experts on 30 and 31 October 2006. The main objectives are to exchange experiences and develop a common strategy in promoting transparency in medicines regulation and procurement.
