Graph 1 shows the changes of suicide rates over time, from oldest to most recent sets of data available in five-year intervals, by gender, as well as the total suicide mortality rate.
Graph 2 shows suicide rates by age groups (10-year age intervals) and by gender in the most recent year available.
The Table (bottom of page) indicates the absolute number of deaths due to suicide in the most recent year available. In some cases the total number indicated may be higher than the sum of the previous columns. This is due to people of unknown age whose column was omitted for the sake of simplicity.
