South East Asian Region - Lymphatic Filariasis Regional Programme Review meeting (LF RPRG)

Participants will review the reapplication submitted by endemic countries for the free supply of albendazole as well as discuss strategies and emerging technical issues for the national LF elimination programmes. Discussions will also review progress of LF elimination in endemic countries.

Meeting of Strategic and Technical Advisory Group (STAG) on Neglected Tropical Diseases

Review meeting on human African trypanosomiasis control in South Sudan

Participants will update epidemiology and discuss capacity for HAT control in health care facilities in charge of HAT endemic areas. Strategy to scale-up HAT control and plan capacity building for its appropriate implementation will also be discussed.
Measuring enhanced outcomes and impact of Preventive Chemotherapy interventions

International symposium on "Visceral leishmaniasis outbreaks"

Yaws elimination

A recent finding that a single-dose azithromycin is as effective as a single-injection of benzathine penicillin in the treatment of yaws provides a huge possibility to eliminate yaws. This new finding overcomes the limitations of using antibiotic injections in mass treatment. In this context, WHO is convening a technical meeting of experts to review the evidence and to define the way forward for yaws elimination.
Dengue Strategic Planning Meeting

The primary goal is the development of a new global strategy for dengue prevention and control based on the experience of all the regional and country plans. Uniting to combat neglected tropical diseases
