Dr John Beier

Dr John Beier is Professor in the Department of Public Health Sciences at the Miller School of Medicine, University of Miami, Miami, Florida, U.S.A and Head of the Division of Environment and Public Health.

Dr Beier’s work involves research in ecology, epidemiology, and control of vector-borne diseases, including malaria, dengue, West Nile virus, and leishmaniasis.

Dr Beier has published more than 250 peer-reviewed papers and currently serves as editor and reviews editor for Acta Tropica.

Dr Beier helped to develop the global framework for Integrated Vector Management which is now being promoted by WHO as a lead “best practices” strategy for tackling vector-borne disease problems.
