Immo Kleinschmidt is Reader in Epidemiology at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM). His research interests focus on the evaluation of programmatic malaria control interventions, cluster randomized trials of vector control tools and the determinants of malaria in pre-elimination settings.
Dr Kleinschmidt is member of a number of scientific committees: the Impact Evaluation Technical Advisory Group of the USAID President's Malaria Initiative; two External Scientific Advisory Committees of the Integrated Vector Control Consortium; the Steering and Advisory Committee of the Project on ‘Demonstration of sustainable alternatives to DDT and strengthening of vector control’; the DDT Expert Group of the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants; and the Scientific Committee of the 6th MIM Pan African Malaria Conference.
