Dr Thomas W. Scott is Professor and Director of the UC Davis Mosquito Research Laboratory in California, USA. He is a fellow of the Entomological Society of America and the American Association for the Advancement of Science, a National Research Council Associate, Past-President of the Society for Vector Ecology, Chair of the Mosquito Modeling Group in the programme on Research and Policy in Infectious Disease Dynamics, and an editor for the American Journal of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene and Journal of Insect Science. His research focuses on mosquito ecology, evolution of mosquito–virus interactions, epidemiology of mosquito-borne disease, and evaluation of novel products and strategies for mosquito control and disease prevention.
