The Islamic Republic of Iran convened a Regional High-level Consultation on NCDs in Tehran to discuss the challenges faced by the WHO Eastern Mediterranean in addressing NCDs and to provide an input to the preparatory process of the High-level Meeting of the United Nations General Assembly on NCDs (September 2011). The consultation was co-sponsored by WHO.
