Global Database on Child Growth and Malnutrition

UNICEF-WHO-The World Bank: 2012 Joint child malnutrition estimates - Levels and trends

This year UNICEF, WHO and the World Bank report new joint estimates of child malnutrition using available data up to 2012. An interactive dashboard presents the updated prevalence estimates and numbers affected for stunting, underweight, overweight, wasting and severe wasting by the different regional classification (i.e. UN, MDG, UNICEF, WHO regions as well as World Bank geographic regions and income groups).

These estimates were derived using the same methodology as last year. They supersede relevant historical analysis previously published by UNICEF, WHO and the World Bank.

For latest, including 2012, regional and global estimates please see tables below.

Child wasting and severe wasting are very sensitive to change. Thus estimates for these indicator cut-offs show only current levels for 2012. Click on the link below to open the interactive dashboard.
