Overview
This integrated infant feeding counselling course is designed to give health workers the competencies required to carry out effective counselling for breastfeeding, HIV and infant feeding and complementary feeding. It is designed for health workers in primary health care services and for lay counsellors.
This material includes four manuals (Director's Guide, Facilitator's Guide, Participant's Manual and Guidelines for Follow-up after Training) and power-point slides. It is designed for a five-day training of health care providers for them to be able to provide counselling to mothers and caregivers for appropriate feeding of infants and young children (breastfeeding, complementary feeding and feeding of infants of HIV-positive mothers).
