6. Follow-up action
The final review meeting (Yangon, 29-31 May 2002) recommended to undertake a further meta-analysis using the data from three countries (Ghana, Myanmar and South Africa) as well as to undertake possible intervention studies in some countries as a follow-up action. Currently the preparations for the 3-country meta-analysis is underway including the review of livelihood, the impacts of urbanization and globalization on dietary changes and caring behaviours. It is scheduled that this 3-country analysis will be completed by March 2004 and the report will be ready by May 2004.
Regarding possible intervention studies in countries, discussions are underway with GTZ and UNICEF at present.
