7. Adaptation, implementation and evaluation
During the Technical Consultation, areas that require local adaptation will be defined and key elements of a strategy for supporting the adoption of the recommendations (main barriers and facilitators) will be developed among the various stakeholders involved.
Outcome measures that can be assessed at baseline and then used for monitoring the impact of the recommendation will be also be defined during the Technical Consultation. The conclusions will be summarized in a "Good Practices" section of the WHO E-Library of Evidence for Nutrition Actions (E-LENA). As part of the E-Library project, the Micronutrients Unit is collecting information on practices and policies on vitamin A supplementation programmes from Member States and their partners. This section of the WHO Global Database for Nutrition Interventions will serve to monitor adoption of these guidelines. We will conduct a survey among pertinent partners to evaluate if they are aware of, and able to make immediate use of WHO/UNICEF current guidance and information on vitamin A supplementation.
Dissemination will be made through the mailing lists and through direct contacts with stakeholders in the Member States through the WHO and UNICEF Regional and Country offices. Also, presentation of the guidelines will be made at major international and national events, coordinated with partners.
