Impact of HIV/AIDS on household food and nutrition security
The HIV/AIDS epidemic is having an enormous impact on the survival and well-being of millions of people. Whilst the impacts of HIV/AIDS on end-points (i.e. mortality) are becoming more widely recognized, the mechanisms through which epidemic impacts on household dynamics and caring practices for the nutritionally vulnerable within households. Therefore, NHD is in a process of undertaking an review and analysis of the impacts of HIV/AIDS on household food and nutrition security to further the understanding of the ways in which key food and nutrition-relevant policies and programmes may need to be modified so as to strengthen the resistance and resilience of household and communities to HIV/AIDS.
