World Congress 2015 – Dental care and oral health for healthy longevity in an aging society – (organized by Japan Dental Association and co-sponsored by WHO) was successfully held in Tokyo in 13-15 March 2015. Dr Douglas Bettcher, Director of the WHO Prevention of Noncommunicable Diseases, delivered the opening special keynote speech entitled of Prevention and Control of NCDs in the 21st century: the WHO vision. The total 1800 participants from 23 countries gathered to share knowledge and discuss future challenges to promote better oral health for aging population.

At the end of congress, Tokyo declaration on dental care and oral health for healthy longevity was adopted to call upon health policy-makers and professionals to significantly reduce the global disease burden, promote greater equity, and integrate oral health promotion into the NCD prevention and control and development agenda.
