Regional Launch of the Multi-professional Patient Safety Curriculum Guide in Mercosur countries
25-26 April 2013
The Patient Safety Education Progamme was launched in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on 25-26 April 2013, hosted by the University of Del Salvador, Faculty of Medicine.
More than 400 policy and decision-makers from Ministries of Health and educational authorities, academic institutions, hospitals and health professional associations, as well as students participated in the event. Representatives from the following counties in the Americas region were present: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico, Paraguay, Uruguay, as well as Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States of America.
At the launch event, health care universities, authorities and associations from the participating countries, endorsed the WHO Multi-professional Patient Safety Curriculum Guide.
A patient safety workshop followed the launch event. Working groups discussed various aspects of introducing patient safety education and training in academic institutions in South American countries. To see working group discussion outcomes please view links below:
