World Health Care Congress- Europe, 2006
Over 400 health care leaders from key organisations in Europe participated in the World Health Care Congress-Europe. The Congress was held on Thursday 30th, March and Friday 31st, March 2006 at Château Les Fontaines in Chantilly, France with a special evening session dedicated to Chronic Disease Management on Wednesday 29th March 2006.
The Congress was divided into four focused summits:
- Chronic Disease and Long-Term Condition Management;
- Patient Safety;
- Electronic Health Records and IT Innovation and
- Performance Improvement.

The patient safety summit took place on 30 March and brought together European and global experts to share proven best-practices in process re-engineering and IT implementation to improve patient safety. Sir Liam Donaldson delivered a presentation entitled "Improving Systems for Safer Care: The International Agenda" to the audience composed of health care providers, suppliers, customers, policy-makers and health officials.
