International conference on technology and patient safety
WHO Patient Safety is supporting the 6th IET (Institute of Engineering and Technology) international conference on appropriate health-care technology which will take place in London on 13 May 2010. The focus of the conference is patient safety.
Sir Liam Donaldson, Chair of WHO Patient Safety, will be giving the key-note speech addressing the question: "Does 'appropriate' compromise patient safety?" on the evening of 13 May. This will be followed by a two-day virtual online conference.
We are now putting out a call for abstracts for projects involving appropriate health-care technology, particularly those with a focus on patient safety. The authors of the top two abstracts will be invited (and funded) to present at the evening seminar in London. The deadline for applications is 15 January 2010 and further details are available by clicking on the link below.
