Electromagnetic fields (EMF)

WHO International Seminar and Working Group meeting on EMF Hypersensitivity

This WHO seminar and working group meeting was arranged in collaboration with The National Reference Laboratory for Non-Ionizing Radiation, Ministry of Health, Czech Republic.
It was held 25-27 October 2004 in Prague.

Background information

For some time a number of individuals have reported a variety of health problems that they relate to exposure to EMF. While some individuals report mild symptoms and react by avoiding the fields as best they can, others are so severely affected that they cease work and change their entire lifestyle. This reputed sensitivity to EMF has been generally termed “electromagnetic hypersensitivity”
or EHS.

The aim of the conference was to review current state of knowledge and opinions of the conference participants and to provide information for helping people with such symptoms.
