Reports of regional consultation meetings
In accordance with its mandate specified in resolution WHA 63.28 the CEWG held Regional Consultation Meetings on the work of the CEWG. At the meeting Member States were informed about the CEWG's work. Regional expert members of the CEWG thereby presented the CEWG's assessments of the R&D financing and coordination proposals currently under review by the group and discussed these and the CEWG's preliminary recommendations with Member States. The input received by Member States will be presented to the CEWG at its third meeting on 16-19 November 2011, Geneva, Switzerland.

No dedicated regional consultation meeting was convened in the WHO European Region. However, the group's work was presented and discussed at the 7th European Congress on Tropical Medicine & International Health, 3- 6 October 2011, Barcelona, Spain during a session entitled "Proposals for Innovative Financing: Discussing the work to-date of WHO´s Consultative Expert Working Group on Research and Development: Financing and Coordination". The input received at this session will be presented to the CEWG at its third meeting on 16-19 November 2011, Geneva, Switzerland.
