Dr Vinod Paul

Professor and Pediatrician

Vinod K. Paul was a founding member of the PMNCH Board in 2005, as Academic Expert in the Field of Newborn Health and also acted as Co-chair of the PMNCH Board for some years.

Dr Paul (MD, PhD) is Chair of the Department of Paediatrics at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi, as well as visiting professor at the Public Health Foundation of India, and a member of the high-level expert group on universal health coverage constituted by the Prime Minister of India.

Professor Paul also leads the WHO Collaborating Centre for Training and Research in Newborn Care and the ICMR Centre for Advanced Research in Newborn Health at AIIMS. In addition, he is a member of the Steering Committee of the Ind0US Joint Working Group on child and maternal health research.

Dr Paul has also been a member of the Countdown to 2015 Maternal, Newborn and Child Survival Initiative.

Dr Paul has won several awards in the fields of paediatrics and neonatology. He obtained an MBBS, MD (Pediatrics) and PhD degrees from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).

Dr Paul is Co-Chair of the Board of The Partnership for Maternal, Newborn & Child Health.
