Nicole Klingen, Sector Manager, Health, Nutrition, and Population, Human Development Network
Ms. Nicole Klingen is Sector Manager for Health, Nutrition, and Population (HNP) at the World Bank, a position she has held since 2011.
Ms. Klingen co-led the development of the World Bank’s 2007 Strategy for HNP Results. The same year, as part of the International Health Partnership (IHP+) and related initiatives, she led the World Bank team that collaborated with governments of developing and developed countries and other agencies to build a global compact to achieve the health Millennium Development Goals. She also served as co-coordinator of the secretariat for the High-level Taskforce on Innovative International Financing for Health Systems, which was launched in September 2008 to help strengthen health systems in the 49 poorest countries in the world.
Ms. Klingen, a trained economist, has been working in international development for more than 17 years, including more than ten years in operations, predominantly in the Middle East and North Africa.
