Hundreds of ART members participated in the two-day Partners’ Forum, with nearly 80 participants taking part in the dedicated ART side meeting. Participants discussed the UN Secretary-General’s Global Strategy for Women’s and Children’s Health, launched in September at the MDG Summit, reviewed the commitments made to the Global Strategy and discussed how to move them forward and generate new ones. Key outcomes included recommendations on how the ART Constituency might help to implement and monitor the fulfilment of Global Strategy commitments. Specific commitments were to fill research gaps to allow creating consensus where it's missing, and to contribute to aspects of advocacy and training, accountability and implementation. Moving forward, the ART participants requested the creation of a network among this community for dissemination of research and sharing of information on a regular basis through active discussions.
